ROUNDPOINT LLC-3 is bringing an estimated 1,100 jobs to South Carolina with the construction of a new headquarters building in Fort Mill.

The company broke ground last week on the planned headquarters building, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. The three-story, 150,000-square-foot headquarters is projected to cost $34 million.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, who attended the groundbreaking, praised RoundPoint for bringing jobs to the state.

“You’re changing things here,” McMaster said. “This is a big deal."

“This marks a seminal moment in the history of our company,” said company CEO Kevin Brungardt. “This is literally where we’re laying the foundation for the future of RoundPoint.”

Brungardt said he hoped that the new headquarters would spur economic growth throughout the surrounding area, according to the Business Journal.

“As our ship rises, all ships are going to rise,” he said. “I want this to be a place that my kids, my grandkids, their grandkids, would want to work at. I want to leave that type of legacy.”

ROUNDPOINT LLC-3 currently employs more than 500 people in the region, the Business Journal reported. Servicing approximately $80 billion in mortgage assets, it is among the top nonbank servicers in the country.
